Giving to Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation
It is the mission of the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation to honor Jewish individuals connected to the State of Michigan who have distinguished themselves in sports and to foster Jewish identity through athletics. As a 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization, we are committed to raising funds to benefit health, education and the less privileged.
Since its inception in 1984, thanks to the generosity of many, the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation through tributes and major fundraising events, including the Hank Greenberg Memorial Golf Invitational and the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation has raised well over $1,500,000 to help eradicate cancer through grants to the Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center, part of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute; the Karmanos/MJSF Genetic Cancer Screening Assistance Fund, an important initiative that provides genetic counseling and screening for anyone concerned about their risk of developing cancer; the Beaumont Cancer Center; and other cancer charities. In addition, the MJSF has supported the Bear Hug Foundation in memory of Jimmy Grossman; the Jewish News High School Athletes of the Year awards program, the Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship fund; and the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, located at the JCC in West Bloomfield.
Assuring our continued donations to important causes, safeguarding the viability of the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation, and ensuring the health of our important and unique organization. Our work is far from being done, and your contribution is instrumental to our success. Please choose to contribute to our Annual Campaign or Stars of Tomorrow Scholarship fund.
Monies donated to the MJSF will benefit the above causes in the metro-Detroit area. While any amount will be greatly appreciated, the names of contributors of $500 or more will be listed and prominently hung on our Bricks & Mortar Campaign plaque in the Hall of Fame and will also be printed in each year’s Hall of Fame event program.
Consider the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation when determining your charitable giving. Cash, insurance policies, real estate, stocks, bonds, endowments and or bequests of any size are accepted, and all gifts are tax deductible.
We need your financial support to continue our mission and thank you in advance for your donation. All contributions are 100% tax deductible!
